Nora Keehn wins MACJC Pitcher of the Week
PERKINSTON – Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College pitcher Nora Keehn has been named MACJC Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 7-13.
The freshman right-hander from Vandebilt Catholic High School in Thibodaux, La., pitched five shutout innings against Hinds, striking out six and walking one in an 8-0 win.
Keehn is 5-0 on the season with a 1.67 ERA for the No. 7 Lady Bulldogs (20-2).
Gulf Coast pitchers have won four of the first six state Pitcher of the Week awards. Kaitlin Lee has won three times already, and shortstop Lexie Mathis has won Player of the Week once.
The Lady Bulldogs return to action Friday at Coahoma and Saturday at Holmes. Their next home doubleheader is March 25 when Meridian visits Ross-Smith Field.
