No. 15 Bulldogs edged at home
PERKINSTON — No. 15 Mississippi Gulf Coast lost a narrow 5-4 women's tennis match to No. 13 Coastal Alabama-South on Monday, dropping its first match of the season.
Gulf Coast falls to 1-1, while the Coyotes are 8-3.
Isona Arnaus (So., Barcelona, Spain/Centre Lopez Vicuna) and Victoria Ros Fabuel (Fr., Valencia, Spain /Colegio Sagrado Corazon Hermanos Maristas) won 8-6 at No. 1 doubles.
The Bulldogs won the first three courts in singles. Arnaus won 6-4, 6-1 at No. 1, and Ros Fabuel won 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2. At No. 3, Pia Pugliese (Fr., San Juan, Argentina/Colegio Central Universitario Mariano Moreno) picked up a 6-0, 6-2 win.
Gulf Coast (1-1) is right back in action Tuesday in an MACCC match. The Bulldogs host No. 16 Copiah-Lincoln, with first serves scheduled for 2 p.m.
