MGCCC has 17 on CSC Academic All-District Teams
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast placed 17 student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District teams.
There were eight women and nine men named to the squads, which include community colleges, Canadian institutions and other non-NCAA and non-NAIA divisions that comprise the at-large teams. Nominees must have a 3.50 GPA or greater, and the award recognizes combined performance in the athletic realm and the classroom.
The women's winners include soccer's Laurel Conley (So., Ocean Springs/Ocean Springs), Ava Green (So., Ocean Springs/Ocean Springs), Millie Jebb-Geer (So., Dronfield, England/Dronfield Henry Fanshawe) and Linda Mustered (So., Biloxi/St. Patrick); softball's Caroline Batson (So., Wiggins/Stone) and Baleigh Tullos (So., Hurley/East Central); and tennis' Isona Arnaus (So., Barcelona, Spain/Centre Lopez Vicuna) and Meredith Matthews (So., Wiggins/Stone).
On the men's team, Gulf Coast winners include baseball's Brandon Coakley (So., Covington, La./Covington), James Vines (So., Clinton, La./Silliman Institute) and Griffin Wells (So., Pascagoula/Pascagoula); football's Demorrsion Brown (So., Canton/Canton); soccer's Tobias Buch (So., Skovlunde, Denmark/Borupgaard Gymnasium), Vincenzo Jeanfreau (So., Saucier/Pass Christian), Alexander Mink (So., Long Beach/Long Beach) and Hayden Thomas (So., Clinton/Clinton); and tennis' Nick Dulaney (So., Long Beach/Long Beach).
The College Division's Women's Academic All-America Team will be announced July 7, with the Men's Academic All-American Team released the following day.
