PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast's seven-game excursion to the Coastal Alabama Spring Invitational on Friday and Saturday has been canceled, but coach Kenneth Long is hoping to get a couple of doubleheaders in at home instead.
The 16-team event in Atmore, Ala., won't be played, but the Lady Bulldogs (6-4) hope to bring in Southern Union (7-10) for a pair of games Friday which will start at 1 p.m.
Saturday's games will be against Lansing, which is ranked 12th in the country. The Stars were scheduled to play their first games of the season at Atmore. The doubleheader will also start at 1 p.m.
