Women’s Soccer launches season Aug. 22

PERKINSTON — The Mississippi Gulf Coast women's soccer schedule gets started on the road Aug. 22 with a neutral-site game against Southern Union in Livingston, Ala.

The Bulldogs, who advanced to the postseason for the second straight season under coach Ryan Joiner, will play their first home game four days later. Pensacola State visits Bary Thrash Field with a 6 p.m. kickoff.

Six of the nine home dates will be MACCC doubleheaders with the men's team. Conference play starts Sept. 16 with a home match against Meridian. Tickets will go on sale later this month. They'll be available at http://mgcccbulldogs.com/tickets.

Gulf Coast has four exhibitions on the slate, including three before the regular season starts. The Bulldogs play Pearl River and Southwest on Aug. 8, then at William Carey three days later. A home exhibition on Xavier on Aug. 14 is the last tune up, and there's a midseason home scrimmage on Sept. 11 against the US Sports University.
