Varnes, Mustered named Bulldogs of the Week
PERKINSTON — Landon Varnes and Linda Mustered have been named Bulldogs of the Week for Oct. 20-26.
Varnes, a sophomore quarterback from Brandon, threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns in Gulf Coast's 56-3 win at Coahoma. He completed 19 of 24 passes without an interception.
Mustered, a sophomore forward from Biloxi, mustered four goals and two assists in a dominant week for No. 5 Gulf Coast. She had a goal and two assists in an 8-0 win at East Mississippi, then notched her second hat trick of the season in a 7-0 win over Hinds.

Omarion Brown, a freshman keeper from Linstead, Jamaica, went 1-0-1 in goal for Gulf Coast last week. The Bulldogs shut out East Mississippi 5-0, and he had seven saves in a 2-2 tie against No. 16 Hinds.
Aiden Guinn, a freshman kicker from Wiggins, made all eight point-afters in Gulf Coast's 56-3 win at Coahoma.
Mariah Hammond, a freshman outside hitter from Slidell, La., had 30 kills during a 2-1 week for Gulf Coast. She also had 12 digs.
Cambell Herrington, a freshman outside hitter/defensive specialist, led Gulf Coast with 69 digs and eight service aces in three matches.
Alexander Mink, a sophomore midfielder from Long Beach, scored four times in a 1-0-1 week for Gulf Coast. He had a hat trick in a 5-0 win at East Mississippi and added another goal in a 2-2 tie against No. 16 Hinds.
Kaylee Tardo, a freshman from Madison, didn't allow a goal in 115 minutes of play this week. The Bulldogs shut out East Mississippi 8-0, and she split time in goal with Laurel Conley in a 7-0 win over Hinds.
Connor White, a freshman defensive back from Ocean Springs, had three tackles and an interception in Gulf Coast's 56-3 win at Coahoma.
