Clem Dellenger Tourney set for Oct. 25
PERKINSTON — The annual Clem Dellenger Memorial Golf Tournament will take place Oct. 25, once again at scenic Hickory Hill County Club & Resort in Gautier. The tournament is moving away from Homecoming week and will be played on a Saturday.
Named in honor of the late Clem R. Dellenger Jr. a, distinguished coach and member of MGCCC's Athletic Hall of Fame, this charity event benefits student‑athletes.
Individuals and teams can sign up for the two-player scramble, and the fee is $100 per player or $200 per team. Hole sponsorships are also available for $100, and 100 percent of proceeds are tax-deductible.

Dellenger was a longtime Gulf Coast resident and alumnus of Notre Dame High School in Biloxi and Tulane University, where he lettered in football and baseball. For 25 years, he coached at MGCCC under Coach George Sekul and contributed significantly to the Bulldogs' 1971 National Championship. He served later as assistant principal at St. John High School in Gulfport. Dellenger passed away on September 16, 2007, and was inducted posthumously into the MGCCC Athletic Hall of Fame in 2008.
