MGCCC announces summer football camps
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College will hold a pair of football camps at historic A.L. May Memorial Stadium.

The Lineman Camp and Skills/Team Camp will take place June 11-13. Players in grades 9-12 who haven't started their senior year in high school. Cost is $250 for overnight campers, with a team rate of $200 for 8-14 campers or $180 if there are 15 or more campers from the same team. Day campers pay $150. Enrollment is limited to the first 500 campers, and registration is first-come, first-serve. A non-refundable $50 deposit is required for each registration.
Lineman campers will learn techniques to block or beat blockers, with individual and team blocking addressed. Skills campers will get position-specific fundamentals for quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, linebackers and defensive backs. There will be at least seven 7-on-7 games, concluding with a final tournament.
Registration deadline is June 1, and players should bring helmet, T-shirts, athletic shorts, cleats, socks, underwear, casual clothes, towels, washcloths, toilet articles and bedding. Bring enough T-shirts and socks for seven practices.
Overnight campers will be housed in residence halls on the Perkinston Campus, with meals served in the campus cafeteria. Meals are included in tuition (lunch only for day campers).
The Senior Camp will be held July 12 from 3-6 p.m. Players entering their senior year in fall 2017 are eligible. Wear workout clothes and workout clothes, and bring cleats. Cost is $10.
