MGCCC ranked third in country
PERKINSTON – Mississippi Gulf Coast is ranked third in the latest Bushnell Golfweek NJCAA Division II Coaches Poll, released Friday.
The Bulldogs, which had the best finish of any junior college in last weekend's Elizabeth Kling Memorial Invitational, dropped a point behind fellow MACJC school Meridian, with defending national champions South Mountain remaining in first.
Golfstat has Gulf Coast second in its Relative Ranking system, trailing Meridian and ahead of South Mountain.
Gulf Coast finished third in last year's NJCAA Division II National Tournament in Scottsboro, Ala.
The Bulldogs return to action March 14-15 at the William Carey Invitational, played at Canebrake County Club in Hattiesburg.
