No. 2 Gulf Coast grabs slew of awards
PLYMOUTH, Ind. – Three Mississippi Gulf Coast golfers and their coach were honored Monday night in the banquet before the NJCAA Division II Men's Golf Tournament.
Sophomore Grant Motter was named to the PING All-American First Team, as selected by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
Freshman Colin Troxler was named to the PING All-American Second Team, and he also earned a spot on the All-Freshman team.
Sophomore Phillip Hickam won PING All-American Honorable Mention honors.
Bulldogs coach Tommy Snell was named a finalist for the Dave Williams Award Presented by Golf Pride Grips. The Williams Award honors the national coach of the year in NJCAA Division II men's golf.
No. 2 Gulf Coast opens play in the national championship Tuesday morning at Swan Lake Resort. The 72-hole tournament concludes Friday.
