Wedgeworth leads No. 1 MGCCC at Wesson
No. 1 Mississippi Gulf Coast's Jackson Wedgeworth scorched Wolf Hollow Golf Club in Wesson on Saturday, shooting a 7-under 65 to lead the field at the second MACJC event of the year.
The Bulldogs are two shots behind Meridian, which shot 7-under to take first after 18 holes. The 36-hole event concludes Saturday.
Gulf Coast's Brice Wilkinson (Fr. Madison Central/Madison) is tied for fifth at 1-under, with Colby Blake (So., Parklane/Tylertown) two more shots back.
Colby Entriken (So., Hancock/Pass Christian) and Miles Jackson (Fr. Biloxi/Biloxi) are tied for 13th at 2-over.
Wedgeworth (So., West Jones/Soso) won medalist honors at the first MACJC tournament last weekend. He's 17-under in the first three rounds of play in the state.
