Gulf Coast closes out homestand

PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast returns to MACJC action Friday when East Mississippi visits Ken "Curly" Farris Field.

The games will be streamed at https://livestream.com/MGCCCBulldogs/events/8641215.

Thanks to a sweep Tuesday, the Bulldogs again have a chance to get back to .500 at Perk. They are 8-10 on the season. The games conclude a stretch of seven doubleheaders where they played six dates at home.

Records

  • MGCCC: 21-11/11-7 MACJC, 5th place in conference
  • East Mississippi: 7-23/4-13, 14th place in conference

Last Time Out

  • MGCCC broke out the brooms Tuesday and swept Baton Rouge 14-2 and 10-3 at Perk. They were the last non-conference games of the regular-season.
  • EMCC split with Coahoma on Tuesday in Scooba, losing one 10-3 game and winning another 10-3 contest.

Previous Meeting

Mississippi Gulf Coast battered the Lions 14-4 in seven innings and 13-0 in five last April 28 at Scooba. Kole Kittrell (So., Greene County/State Line) threw a no-hitter in the second game.

  • Alden Davis (So., Pascagoula/Pascagoula) went 5-for-8 with a double and five RBI against Baton Rouge.
  • Miller Hancock (So., East Webster/Maben) has a six-game hitting streak.
  • Dee Hawthorne (Fr., Harrison Central/Gulfport) has a four-game hitting streak.
