Gardner, Vines named All-MACCC
PERKINSTON — Mississippi Gulf Coast has two baseball players on the All-MACCC team after voting completed by the conference's coaches.
Second baseman Garrett Gardner was named to the Second Team, and pitcher James Vines earned Honorable Mention.
Gardner, a freshman from Madison, clubbed 18 home runs, tied for third-most in the MACCC. That is the third-most in school history. His .403 batting average ranked 12th in the league, and his 61 RBI were eighth-most. Both led the Bulldogs.
Vines, a sophomore from Clinton, La., made All-MACCC for the second time. He went 7-3 with a 4.09 ERA. His seven wins were seventh-best in the conference, and his three complete games ranked fourth. He had 64 strikeouts to place 14th among conference leaders.
