2014 MGCCC Tennis Signees
PERKINSTON---The already talent-laden Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College tennis team added seven more signees this spring. With a solid group of current freshmen on the men's squad, head coach Gary Bourgeois has found more depth on the men's side along with quality women's players to take the place of several current sophomores that will be moving on to four-year colleges and universities. The latest tennis signees to join the MGCCC Bulldog Nation are:
Brian Allen/St Martin High School: A #1 singles player ranked #30 in his USTA age group.
Skyler Flowers/Ocean Springs High School: A three-time 6-A singles champion & state doubles champion, Flowers is ranked #1 in his age group & a member of the State's Junior Davis Cup Team.
Kahrah Younger/Pascagoula High School: The District Doubles Champion carries a 3.8 GPA.
Julia Hatten/Pascagoula HS: The two time District Champion has also reached the State semi-finals in singles play and has been a four year member of the school's varsity tennis team.
Kayla Sims/Pascagoula HS: Helped her twam to a District Championship and was also a member od the school's basketball team.
Lexi Johnson/Stone HS: Has played varsity tennis since the seventh grade and was part of a District Championship team. She's also a two-time State semi-finalist.
Angel Seals/Moss Point HS: Is a District Champion and made it to the State Tournament. She's also an honor roll student and is invloved with several student and charity organizations.
This group joins fellow 2014 signees Sam Blackburn of Enterprise, AL and Stone's Hannah Wegner.
