MGCCC Tennis Camp fun for all ages
PERKINSTON---This week the 35 or so kids at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College's annual tennis camp got to enjoy some great weather, quality instruction, and the spoils of the college's new tennis facilty located on the Perkinston Campus.
Kids aged 7-18 are getting a week's worth of tennis education from some of the area's best young players, including former MGCCC Men's State Champion Nick Georgian and incoming Lady Bulldog freshman Hannah Wegner. Gulf Coast tennis coach Gary Bourgeois, who led the 2014 women's squad to the NJCAA Tournament, is excited about conducting the camp at the new facility.
"We've gotten alot of great use out the courts since it opened a few months ago," said Bourgeois, who earned 2014 MACJC Women's Tennis Coach of the Year honors. "We were able to showcase the facility during this year's MACJC/Region 23 Tournament."
