MGCCC performers shine at Meet The Teams Night
PERKINSTON---The Band of Gold drumline got it started, then the cheerleaders and Perkettes followed suit as the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College 2013-14 Athletic Season kicked of with Meet The Team Night at A.L. May Memorial Stadium Thursday.
Players from Gulf Coast's football and soccer teams were introduced, head football coach Steve Campbell led the crowd with his annual "Two-Bits" cheer, and the fans serenaded "Mac", the one-year old Bulldog mascot, with a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday". Afterwards the Bulldog football team took part in a 40-play scrimmage as it continues to prepare for the 2013 season opener Aug. 29 against Coahoma.
